Diet expert advises 20 minute daily walk

Walking for 20 minutes per day could help people to lose weight and improve their overall fitness.

That is according to Joanna Hall, a diet and movement specialist, whose comments follow research by Scottish Widows, which revealed that a third of people believed they did not have the time to exercise.

She said: "If we each walked with good technique for 20 minutes a day ... we would notice a real difference in our health, fitness, weight loss, overall wellbeing and posture. It can also be anti-ageing."

People who integrate exercise into their daily lives, she said, are much more likely to succeed than those who set unrealistic goals and then feel guilty when they fail to reach those targets.

She explained that concern over failure to achieve exercise goals created a "template of failure".

Recent research conducted by Harvard University failed to determine the amount of exercise required to prevent weight gain over the long-term.ADNFCR-858-ID-19912603-ADNFCR
