The Glycaemic Index (GI) is a rating of certain foods depending on their effects on blood sugar levels. Tesco is now starting to label selected foods with their Gi rating for your benefit. That's because low and medium Gi food can make you feel fuller for longer and reduce food cravings between meals, which will help you control your weight. Look out for the big blue circles in store on selected low and medium Gi foods.

Convenience plans

If you are busy or prefer not to spend too much time cooking, this is the plan for you. It includes pre-packed sandwiches, some ready meals, and quick to prepare "on the go" snacks.

Breakfast

Cereal with toast & fruit

  • 60g of wholegrain breakfast cereal.
  • 125ml of semi-skimmed milk.
  • 2 svgs of bread of choice.
  • 1 tsp of reduced fat margarine (40% fat).
  • 1 tsp of honey.
  • 1 serving of fruit.

Dinner

Steak fajita with cheese*

Lunch

Tesco fresh carrot & coriander soup with wholemeal bread

  • ½ tub of Tesco fresh carrot & coriander soup.
  • 2 slices of wholemeal bread (around 35g each).
  • 2 tsp of reduced fat margarine (40% fat).
  • 1 serving of fruit.
  • 200ml of fruit juice.

Snack

Bowl of wholegrain cereal with milk.

  • 30g of wholegrain breakfast cereal.
  • 150ml of semi-skimmed milk.

Flexibility:

Our meal plans are extremely flexible and you can choose what you eat! We will provide you with a meal-by meal plan weekly plan that matches your initial dietary choices but each and every meal on that plan can be changed to meet your own preferences. If you select to change a meal, a list of other options will be given, showing both recipe and convenience options, and you are sure to find a meal you enjoy here!

Individual food items can also be replaced and the Servings and Substitutions list will give you full details.

All meals are interchangeable so you can eat the meals on your plan whenever best suits you.
