The Little Black Dress Diet is a 6 week, low calorie diet to help you slink into your fabulous party dress this festive season. Lower in calories but high in taste, it contains regular meals and snacks to help you lose weight and enjoy your favourite party tipple!

Recipe plans

If you like to cook, this plan uses many popular recipes. The recipes will be tailored to your personal calorie level, and changed each week depending on your weight loss.

Breakfast

Fruit & nut porridge

  • Prepare 40g of porridge oats with 150ml semi skimmed milk. Heat and gently simmer for a few minutes. Stir well and pour into a serving bowl. Top with 15g of mixed nuts, 50g of strawberries, 1 tsp of honey.

Dinner

Provencal chicken casserole with new potatoes

Lunch

Ham and cheese sandwich with relish

  • Fill 2 slices of wholemeal bread with 2 slices of ham, spread 2 tsp of relish or chutney over the ham. Add 40g of low fat cheddar cheese, a sliced tomato and mixed salad leaves to the sandwich. Serve with a low fat fromage frais.

Recipes:

Provencal chicken casserole with new potatoes*

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • ½ onion
  • 2 chicken thighs, skin removed
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 pepper
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 pinch of oregano
  • 1 pinch of mixed herbs
  • 4 olives

Procedures:

1- Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and cook the sliced onion gently until softened.

2- Add the chicken and cook for a few minutes to brown.

3- Add the garlic (whole, with skins still on), sliced peppers (use a mix of red and yellow, if preferred), chopped tomatoes and herbs.

4- Cook over a low heat for 30-35 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

5- Add the sliced olives before serving. Serve with 4 small new potatoes and mixed salad leaves.
