I'm ditching the black clothes forever.
Sharon loves clothes and was dreading the thought of wearing a frumpy old dress to an upcoming dance. Tired of buying clothes she felt uncomfortable in, Sharon decided to try the Low Fat plan. Now she is an amazing 2 stone 3 lbs slimmer.
Sharon tells us her story…
What started you on a weight loss journey?
I thought about joining the diet for a long time, but I kept putting it off. Then I had a dance in March and I couldn’t fit into any of my nice dresses. I had to wear an older dress and I felt like a middle aged, frumpy woman, so I decided to take action.
Was your weight causing you any problems?
I couldn’t get any clothes I liked and I hated shopping. I wore a lot of black clothes to make me look slimmer and didn’t like clothes with fixed waist bands.
I’m wearing colourful, fitted clothes and I love the reaction of colleagues and friends when they see me

Tell us about your diet?
Prior to joining Tesco Diets I was eating high calorie, high fat foods and I didn’t realise how much weight I was gaining. Now, I eat a low calorie diet most of the time, but even when eating out I’m careful to share a pizza rather than eat the whole thing. I eat lots of fruit and vegetables and when I only take a tiny square of cake now. I’m more organised in terms of shopping and cooking.
What part has exercise played in your weight loss?
I joined a gym and still go there in order to maintain my new weight.
How did the Tesco Diets plan work for you?
The meals weren’t complicated and I liked the fact you could weigh in online and choose whether to have feedback or not.
Has losing weight changed your life?
I’m wearing colourful, fitted clothes and I love the reaction of colleagues and friends when they see me. I can run further and faster than I ever could have before losing weight.
How do you view yourself now?
As a slim, confident 45 year old.
What are your tips for other dieters?
It helps to set realistic goals and focus on small goals instead of my ultimate goal. Even on the weeks that I didn’t lose, I never felt bad about it because I knew I was following the diet to the letter and would lose the following week.
