Often a new mother becomes an extension of her child, and she can easily lose sight of her own needs. After having her baby, Stephanie waited expectantly for the weight to shift, but when it didn’t, she knew a kick-start was needed and this came in the form of her return to work. Stephanie saw this as a way to reclaim her life. She lost 2 stone 9 lbs and got her sparkle back.

What motivated you to join the Gi diet plan?
When my son turned one and I was still carrying my baby weight, I decided that I had enough of waiting for the baby weight to fall off. Starting back at work was the first step to retrieving a little bit of me and starting the diet was another step in that direction.
Was your weight causing you any problems?
I couldn’t find any clothes I liked and I looked like a bit of a frump.
Tell us about your typical diet before you joined?
I ate loads of carbs, huge portion sizes, minimal fruit and vegetables. Now I eat small portions and snack on fruit and vegetables instead of biscuits.
Did exercise play any part in your weight loss?
I walk my son to nursery 4 days a week and collect him twice. I’ve also started back at yoga once a week.
What difference has losing weight made to you?
I feel so positive and confident. I feel sexy again and it is great going out to buy a new wardrobe as a reward. I’ve also been able to save money as I take my lunch into work and don’t eat out as often as I used to.
