'Set goals' to ensure diet and fitness plan is a success in 2012
Performance coach Julia Armstrong claimed one of the most important aspects of a successful diet is to compile a clear plan and make sure that it is something that you truly want to achieve.
She said: "If you work out what your goals really are, this can set in motion a process to get there. If something is written down, then there is more likelihood of connecting to it.
"Using pictures and colour can help too, as this accesses the creative side of the brain and then the dreams and goals will come from the heart."
Ms Armstrong added that a weight-loss plan should be congruent to your own lifestyle and preferences. For example, an outdoor lover may prefer to run in a park than in a gym, while night owls will no doubt enjoy exercise later in the day than early in the morning.
