3 stone gone in 7 months - Alison's achievement!

Kellie Collins

Alison joined us in September 2005, and within only 7 months, she had reached her target! Now she’s concentrating on maintaining her weight, and hoping that her new exercise regime will help her to do this easily.

When Alison registered for our online Gi diet, she weighed in at 14 stone. Her height of 5’ 7” meant that her BMI was 31 – in the obese category. Seven months on, Alison had shed 3 stone and her new 11 stone figure gives her a healthy BMI of 24.

Like many of our members, looking back at some holiday photos prompted Alison to lose weight. A friend of hers also inspired her. “A good friend of mine has lost a lot of weight over the last two years. When she was starting to wear clothes that I couldn’t fit into, I got a serious wake-up call!

"This online Gi diet plan was the most satisfactory diet plan I’ve ever used!."

“I was feeling unfit and frumpy. I also lacked confidence, although I didn’t realise how much until I lost weight. At 14 stone, I was taking a size 18 – sometimes 20 in clothes. I’ve now slimmed down to a size 14 so I’ve had an excuse to buy lots of new clothes! I bought a dress for a dinner dance recently in a style that I never would have worm before. I feel so much more confident as a result of my weight loss!”

Alison had previously attempted to lose weight by attending classes with a well known slimming company. “I lost weight but when I stopped going to the classes, I regained all the weight. It didn’t help me to permanently change my eating habits. But this online Gi diet plan was the most satisfactory diet plan I’ve ever used!

“I really enjoyed the meals given on the Gi diet, especially the breakfasts. They were much bigger than I had been used to although I did always have breakfast before losing the weight. I also eat brown bread, rice and pasta instead of white and I prefer the taste. I choose fruit and nuts as a snack rather than cake or biscuits.”

As well as following the meal plans, Alison has used exercise to help boost her weight loss. “I feel fitter and as a result, I actually want to do exercise, rather than seeing it as a chore. I plan to run the Race for Life which is something I would never have considered before.”

Alison admits that she loves being complimented on her new figure. “I love to hear compliments about how good I look! I feel so much more confident now. My husband has always been happy with me, but he prefers my new shape. My daughter has been getting diet tips from me too. She doesn’t need to lose weight but is conscious of the need to follow a healthy diet. When friends ask me how I lost the weight, I point them in the direction of this website!”

So how does Alison plan to maintain her slim new figure? “I still allow myself the odd sticky pudding or a few chocolates as a treat, but overall I am eating a much more balanced and healthy diet. With the added exercise, I am confident that I will keep the weight off. I plan on staying this way for a long time!”
