Amanda Jane tells us about the difference losing weight has made to her.

What weight and BMI were you in January 2010 and what weight and BMI are you now?
I was 14 stone 7 lbs with a BMI of 32 to begin with and now I am 13 stone 7 lbs and my is BMI 30

How has your life changed for the better in 2010?

Making the decision to lose the extra weight put on during and after pregnancy and joining Tesco Diets has given me a big boost. I have more confidence in my appearance and I also know that I am helping my health and gaining more energy to devote to my gorgeous little 19 month old boy. I have also felt more proactive in other areas of my life and have been sorting out my clutter, improving my work area and adjusting how I deal with friends and family so that I put my immediate family first.

What steps have you taken to achieve this positive change?

I joined Tesco Diets in September and have averaged a weekly loss of 2 lbs since then. I also tackle a little bit of clutter every day. I spend lots of loving time with my son and don’t begrudge a minute of it. I am developing systems to help me be more organised in my work as I work from home.

Is there something you love doing that has taken a major role in this change?

I always wanted to be a mother and finally became one at the age of almost 40. It was everything I thought it would be, but also a lot harder and being overweight held me back from doing as much with my son as I would have liked. Being with him is the thing I love most in the world, and I didn’t want my health or energy to be affected so that my family time would be compromised.

Any other information you would like to give?

I have a back and hip problem stemming from being hit by a car 17 years ago, and the lack of exercise I am able to do has hindered me ever since. The weight gain definitely didn’t help, and I feel that the weight loss I am experiencing with Tesco Diets is the first step to all sorts of improvement in what I can do. I just feel so much better and happier, and convinced that I will be able to continue to lose the weight and reach my target loss of 4 stone – 1 down, 3 to go.
