There is no doubt that Alexis is happier, healthier and more confident than ever.

“I feel like a different person. I have so much energy; I can bounce on my childrens trampoline now. I can keep up with the boy I look after at school when he runs off. I don’t snore so much either.”

“I think more about what I eat now. Before I would just eat whatever I wanted when I wanted. I would go into the kitchen in the evening after eating dinner and munch on chocolate or crisps. Now I include a healthy snack in my plan for the evening. I used to think nothing of going to the canteen at work and having quiche and chips but now I always take my own lunch.”

Not only has she reformed her eating habits but she has taken up regular exercise as well.

“I bought an exercise DVD and used that 2 or 3 times per week. I also increased the amount of time I spent walking the dogs. My partner bought me a pedometer which measures how many miles I walk a day and this has been a big motivator. I do 10 minutes yoga every morning and toning exercises in the evening when I have time.”

At times when Alexis was tempted to stray, she stayed on track by following a few general healthy eating rules. Here are her top tips!

“1. Plan your meals and enter the food into the Totaller tool the night before you eat them.
2. Make sure you have food you want in the house – so you don’t nibble on things that you shouldn’t.
3. Carry a healthy snack and a bottle of water with you.
4. I stopped eating in the canteen at work and bring my own lunch with me.
5. When you first start you may feel like you will never get there but stick with it, it's worth it.”
