Duncan achieves a 2 stone 9 lbs loss!
Duncan never worried about his weight but as he approached his late thirties he became more concerned about the long term implications being obese would have on his health.
When it clicked that the excess weight he carried was having a negative impact on his energy levels he decided to join our online healthy eating plan.
“I felt bloated and tired all the time. I realised it would only get more difficult to lose the weight and keep it off as I got older.”
Although it was Duncan’s first attempt at dieting he managed to adhere strictly to the meal plans and this was reflected by his superb 2 stone 9 lbs loss. He reduced his BMI from an obese 30 to a healthy one of 25. In doing so he decreased the chances of suffering from many of those conditions that come hand in hand with obesity such as diabetes and heart disease to name just a few.
Duncan enjoyed many aspects of the meal plans. They were easy to follow and a very effective means of banishing the bad dietary habits that were his downfall in the past.
“The meal plans were varied and interesting. I loved doing some of the cooking myself; previously we ate lots of convenience foods and take aways.”
And how has he avoided the temptation to overindulge on calorific junk food?
“I eat my meals earlier in the day now; this prevents me from overeating in the evening. Fruit has become a major feature in my diet. I avoid all chocolate and cake in my diet except for on Friday nights when we have a take away and yummy dessert.”
The weight loss he achieved has reinvigorated his zest for life and Duncan is even more confident than he was prior to joining the plan.
Exercise is a regular part of his daily routine; he loves swimming in the mornings before work as he feels more alert during the day. This physical activity has no doubt contributed to his weight loss and fitness.
His clothes size has shrunk from extra large to medium. This new slender shape means he no longer needs to trawl the plus size rails for garments that fit.
“I love being able to buy clothes from a wider variety of stores instead of being restricted to the extra large lines.”
One disadvantage of losing weight is the cost incurred by replacing ill fitting clothes!
“Be prepared to have to chuck out all your old clothes and buy new ones. I have had to do this twice during 2006.”
The occasional hiccup has been encountered on his road to success but the determination and constant support of his family have kept him motivated and helped him get back on track when he strayed from the plan.
“It has been a test of my willpower. But my advice is to tell people what you are doing and why-they will be supportive.”
