Football fit after 7 stone 11lbs loss
At 29 years old, weighing 18 stone 13lbs, Elaine D had no energy to play with her four young sons. She would get out of breath after two minutes and finally it came to the point where she stopped playing any physical games with them at all. As a result of her weight her confidence had become non-existent and she hated leaving the house.
One day as she weighed herself something just clicked and Elaine panicked at the thought of reaching 19 stone. This desperation and her lack of energy and confidence spurred her on to join our online dieting site.
She has mainly followed our Low Fat plan since and has found it simple to stick to. “I don't even see it as dieting anymore. It's too easy to stick to, so it CAN'T be a diet!”
Before Elaine joined up with our site her diet consisted of one meal a day with lots of uncontrolled snacking throughout the day. “I would get up in the morning and have my tea with 2 sugars. By mid-morning I would be snacking on 2-3 packets of crisps and half a packet of biscuits”.
At dinner time she would pile her plate high while eating everyone else’s leftovers. Now Elaine has 3 meals a day with a snack in between. She has even managed to drop the sugar in her tea and replace fizzy drinks with water.
Elaine was previously unsuccessful following other diets and it was the food choice and constant support available to her on our site that made all the difference. “I find the support boards and the chat room are tools that I simply couldn't cope without. If you're having a rough day, you post and you have support there right away”.
Exercise has also played a major role in Elaine’s weight loss. “I never used to do anything other than the school run, but now I find I go out walking with the children quite a bit. I actually enjoy it.” Not only does family exercise benefit Elaine but also her children. “I have found the kids are really enjoying it too. And the fresh air tires them out, so it also has bonus advantages!”
Elaine’s 4 young sons have all been fantastic support for Elaine. “On my weigh-in day they always asked me if I'd lost and when I said yes, they would get so excited and it helped to spur me on for another loss”.
Now at 11st 2lbs Elaine has lost over 11 inches from her thighs and has gone from a size 24 to a 10. Her confidence is rising by the day. “I have energy to play with the kids for hours at a time. I run around the parks with them, playing football and wrestling. They love the new me.
Elaine is no longer the quiet one in the corner. Now when she goes out with her friends she is the first on the dance floor and chatting with new people!
Finally, Elaine wants to give fellow dieters a few words of encouragement and advice;
“Water was key in my changes, so to anyone just joining I would say DRINK IT. It makes all the difference. Also, make sure you eat everything on your plan. It is tailored for you. If, like me, you struggle to eat it all in one go, then split it up to give yourself a few snacks. It works as long as you eat it!!”
