How Kim beat the baby bulge!
Kim had been overweight for most of her adult life and had tried almost every diet under the sun. After the birth of her son Sam last year, Kim was so unhappy about how she looked and felt that she decided to take action. Now a year later, Kim is 3st 4lbs lighter and still losing!
Kim had gained a lot of extra weight during her pregnancy, mainly due to her cravings for Cadbury’s Mini Rolls! She was also experiencing muscular pain, and when her Free Diet Profile told her she had a BMI of 33 which was in the obese category, Kim knew she had to do something about it…she signed up straight away!
“I wanted to do something but couldn’t commit to a diet club because of my baby. I came across this site and liked that fact that it was all online, the food was normal and it was easy for me to do and manage!” says Kim.
Throughout her weight loss, Kim’s husband supported her all the way. “He suggested I treat myself to something nice like a massage or facial for every half stone that I lost.” Baby Sam supported his mum in his own special way too, by keeping Kim very active!
Kim soon began to notice the difference her weight loss made. “Clothes buying has become a joy! I used to hate squeezing into tight clothes in small hot changing rooms. Now a whole new world has opened up to me! I can go into shops that I wouldn’t have dared go to before and know that their clothes will fit me.”
Soaring confidence levels and newfound energy have meant that the sky is the limit for Kim! “I’m finally being who I always wanted to be. And I’m doing things now that I would never have dreamed of before. Although I’ve always been a confident person, I always felt like people were judging me or not accepting me because I was overweight.”
Kim’s friends and family are delighted for her, and often have to do double takes if they haven’t seen her for a long time!
With the convenience of her plan being online, Kim had no problems following it each week. “The progress chart showing me how much I lost each week was very motivating. I printed it out occasionally and stuck it on my wall for inspiration! I do like to eat a lot so I have a huge salad or load up my plate with veggies which fills me up and I don’t get that horrible bloated feeling.”
Kim spent the summer showing off her new figure in cropped trousers and strappy tops, which she never would have worn before. “I’m currently looking and feeling the picture of health! I’ve even had my engagement ring taken in and I feel too good to go back to the way I was.”
Kim has also developed a new healthy attitude after battling with her weight for so long. “Looking back I think I used to only ever lose weight because I felt that other people wanted me to be slimmer. This time with a husband who loves me whatever I look like, I did it for me and only me. I also did it to feel better and healthier, rather than pure vanity reasons of looking good.”
Despite her success, Kim still had her bad days. “Everyone has bad days. But I think to be successful you have to have the right attitude towards dieting and see it as a means to an end.”
And finally, Kim has one last tip for anyone wanting to be as successful as her: “I gave myself one day off during the week where I would eat anything I had longed for during the week. Often when my day off came around I wouldn’t want what I had craved earlier in the week but if I did, I would enjoy a small amount of it without feeling guilty!”
Kim’s remarkable story is truly an inspiration to us all!
