Judeth enjoys Gi success!

I’d imagine that many of you out there would be able to identify with Judeth’s situation before she successfully lost 3 st 6 lbs. Basically, Judeth had been on quite a few diets in her time, would lose weight initially but then reach a plateau with her weight loss and become disillusioned. This would lead to her abandoning the diet and regaining any weight she had lost. She would often gain even more as a result of comfort eating. Chocolate and biscuits were her staples and kept her from feeling hungry and miserable. Sound familiar?

Well, comfort eating no longer feature’s in Judeth’s life because she’s given all that up for a new healthy diet and a fabulous new figure to boot! A year ago, Judeth was hitting 14 st 3 lbs on the scales and her clothes were size 18 – 20. Now she’s slimmed down to 10 st 10 lbs and dropped to a dress size of 12 – 14! With a new healthy BMI of 22, Judeth has improved her health and left behind the aching knees that resulted from the extra weight she was carrying.

“This time last year I had developed aching knees. The pain would start around lunchtime each day. I knew my GP would tell me that weight loss was the solution – and it was! The aching knees disappeared with the first stone and haven’t returned.”

Judeth wasn’t even aware of some of the other side effects of her extra weight until she started losing successfully. “I have so much extra energy now compared to last year. I’m also a lot less grumpy and less dependent on chocolate to get me through the day!” In fact, it took Judeth only 5 months to reach her target on our programme, and she has maintained this weight ever since.

The Gi diet was an excellent choice for Judeth because it keeps those hunger pangs at bay. “The Gi diet worked really well for me – I am rarely hungry on it. The meal plans on the programme were invaluable – they stopped the cheating that I normally did on previous diets, like allowing myself chocolate biscuits in place of all or part of a meal. Within a month of beginning the Gi diet, I was enjoying my food more than I have for years. I have no wish to go back to my diet of processed, high fat foods!”

“The online support also helped me to reach my target, especially when I reached a plateau a few times, and was tempted to give up. I’m so pleased that I’ve broken the habit of comfort eating chocolate and biscuits when I was feeling down or stressed. The habit had got out of control so it’s great to be out of the vicious circle of binging on unhealthy foods.”

Judeth’s family are delighted, and some of her friends she hadn’t seen for a while didn’t even recognise her! “My family have been very supportive, particularly my husband who has enjoyed the Gi meals with me. Everyone has commented on my success and allowed me to show off! Some friends I hadn’t seen for a while had trouble recognising me!”

As a result of her weight loss, Judeth had no choice but to treat herself to a whole new wardrobe. “I have had to buy most of my clothes online for the last 9 years or so, because it’s so difficult to find big sizes on the high street. I can’t remember when I last enjoyed buying clothes so much! I loved going on my first few shopping trips with my daughters. They persuaded me to buy close fitting tops and have started to call me their “young” mummy!”

Judeth is determined that she will maintain her weight loss. “I’ve kept it off for over 8 months now. I don’t miss my old way of eating plus I enjoy exercising – swimming a few times a week and Pilates – so I don’t see any problem continuing like this. I’m happier now than I was before I lost the weight, I feel more in control and I feel proud of my achievement.”
