We talk to Linda about the difference losing weight has made to her.
What weight and BMI were you and what weight and BMI are you now?
I was 15 stone 4lbs with a BMI of 35 in April 2010 and now I am 11 stone 13lbs with a BMI of 27.
How has your life changed for the better in 2010?
I have much more energy and I really enjoy exercise. I feel so much better about myself and I am a far more confident person - I can do anything. People at work have noticed the difference in me and because I am far happier, I go out more with friends. My self-belief has grown and I am now taking a College course which will enhance my job at school.
What steps have you taken to achieve this positive change?
I have gone out every evening for a walk taking my daughter or my dog for company and I have taken up cycling at weekends. I have revamped my wardrobe which makes me feel great as I can wear lovely clothes instead of the baggy one's that I used to hide in, and I love to be complimented on this. As my self confidence has grown and I have achieved this weight loss, I was motivated to enrol in a College course.
Is there something you love doing that has taken a major role in this change?
YES. I love to walk, I will walk anywhere, any place, at any time. I love to be outdoors so this was the perfect way to exercise.
Any other information you would like to give?
Just that this has been the easiest diet that I have ever been on and it's not so much of a diet but the way I eat now. I will never underestimate how good, eating well makes you feel.
