  1. How do I know Tesco Diets is right for me? Read answer

  2. How much is it to join? Read answer

    There are several different payment and membership options available to you. If you visit the Price Plans page, you will find the full list of current offers and their costs.

  3. How do I get my diet plans? Read answer

    When you join Tesco Diets you create an account online. To get your meal plan each week, you need to log into the account and record your weight. Once you have recorded your weekly progress, we generate your new meal plan which you can edit before creating your shopping list.

  4. Is the food included in the price? Read answer

    No the cost of food and shopping is not involved in the membership fees. Meal Plans are all flexible and you can choose to include budget or supermarket own brand foods to help reduce cost. Other useful methods of reducing costs is to repeat meals throughout the week - such as breakfasts and snacks - our plans are flexible to allow you to edit all meals to suit your needs, tastes, budget and lifestyle.

  5. What do I do if I don't like the plan? Read answer

    Everybody is different and we understand that the plan you initially register with, may not be the best suited for you. Therefore, you are free to change your diet whenever you want to during your membership.   6. Do I have to shop in Tesco? Read answer

    No, we provide diet plans and shopping lists for a wide variety of different supermarkets. Similarly, you can select no supermarket, which means your shopping list would not include supermarket brand foods.

  7. I have a busy lifestyle and find it hard to plan in advance. Do I have to follow a set plan, or can I track what I eat? Read answer

    With our Totals plan, instead of following a set diet plan, you enter everything you eat into our food diary which means that if you are the type of person whose lifestyle means you can't plan in advance, you can track what you eat as you eat and you're not tied down to any supermarket.

  8. I can't exercise can I still join? Read answer

    Yes you can still join. Although regular exercise is recommended as part of a healthy lifestyle, we understand that not everybody can. When you join we ask what your activity level is and we use this information to ensure that the calorie allowance we set for you is correct and will help you to lose weight healthily.

  9. Can I view a sample diet plan before I join? Read answer

    Yes you can, our sample diet plans, are located here. We also have a quick sample diet tour that you can view before joining. This is located here at the bottom of the page.

  10. Can I enjoy a glass of wine or another drink when I'm on this diet? Read answer

    Alcohol is high in calories and should be taken in moderation, however we do give our members an alcohol allowance so you can enjoy your favourite drink and still lose weight.

  11. How will you support me as I lose weight? Read answer

    Our nutritionally balanced diet plans will help you lose a healthy 1 - 2 lbs a week. As you record your progress each week, our Support Team are at hand to support and encourage you every step of the way. Our Nutrition Team are also here for all our members to answer any nutrition specific questions you may have.

  12. I am a member, but I want to cancel my membership. Who do I contact? Read answer

    If you wish to cancel your membership please email help@Tescodiets.com including your name and username in the correspondence.

  13. Why can't I register using my Maestro card? Read answer

    Tesco Diets no longer accept Maestro card as a method of payment. This move is as a result of many issuers replacing Maestro cards with Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit cards. We do accept payment with Visa & Mastercard credit and debits cards as well as American Express charge cards.

    If you do not have any of the cards listed above, but have collected Tesco Clubcard points, you can register using Clubcard vouchers. To do so, please download the Clubcard Deal here.

  14. Is there any option for me to pay weekly? Read answer

    At the present moment we do not offer this as a payment option. All our membership terms are charged as an upfront payment at the beginning or each subscription term.

  15. How much does the shopping cost per week? Read answer

    A There is no set cost for the shopping each week, as it depends on several factors. These include the plan you select, whether you choose the budget option or supermarket own brand items. Preparing your own meals, instead of using ready made meals, helps to lower cost. Repeating meals, such as breakfasts and snacks, throughout the week will also keep costs lower. Alternatively, the Totals Plan allows you to track what you eat normally and therefore the cost of shopping will be very similar to what you would currently spend on groceries each week.

  16. Can I get my shopping delivered? Read answer

    If you are a Tesco.com shopper, yes you can. We have a Diet to your Door option which links your Tesco Diets shopping list to your Tesco.com groceries account and creates your online shopping basket. For more information on this, please visit the Diet to your Door page.

Nutrition FAQs

  1. I have an underactive thyroid, what plan should I follow? Read answer

    We would recommend the low Gi diet for any member with an underactive thyroid. It is high in fibre, low in sugar and fat and as it is designed to help stabilise blood sugar levels. This will help to stabilise your insulin levels, which is very important for those with underactive thyroid activity.

    People with underactive thyroids should also avoid goitrogenic foods, such as cabbage, kale and soya. If you choose to register with us, you can exclude soya from your diet plan and others foods can easily be swapped using our flexible, interactive meal plan.

    Exercise is also an important for weight loss for those with underactive thyroids, as it helps to boost your metabolism. Tesco Diets offer personalised fitness programmes which can be followed in conjunction with your diet plan, to help you achieve your personal weight loss goals.

  2. I have PCOS, what plan should I follow? Read answer

    We would recommend the low Gi diet for any member with PCOS. It is high in fibre, low in sugar, processed convenience foods and saturated fat and it is designed to help you get a better control over your blood sugar levels. This will also help to stabilise your insulin levels, which is important for PCOS.

    It is fine for you to join Tesco Diets but we would advise you to consult your doctor before embarking on a diet, as it is necessary to have a high level of control over your condition before making changes to your diet or lifestyle.

  3. I have IBS, can I follow your diet plans? Read answer

    We do not offer set meal plans for people with IBS as the foods which aggravate this condition can vary greatly between individuals. However, people who are aware of the foods that cause their symptoms can join Tesco Diets and follow our balanced and tasty healthy eating plans, while tailoring the diet plans to avoid the foods that aggravate their symptoms. If you choose to register with us you will be able to substitute meals, edit portion sizes, swap ingredients and exclude certain food groups if necessary.

    Alternatively, we offer the non-prescriptive Totals Plan where you track what you eat over the week, allowing you to lose weight whilst avoiding foods which aggravate your condition.

  4. I have an intolerance to certain vegetables and or fruit, can you provide me with a suitable diet plan? Read answer

    Our plans aren't designed to exclude specific vegetables or fruit as they are important as part of a healthy and balanced diet. However our diet plansare flexible and you can easily swap any vegetable or fruit for another. We also provide diet specific substitutions guidance and tips.

    Another option would be to register for our Totals Plan. This is more flexible than the set diet plans allowing you to enter your own foods while still receiving feedback from our nutritionists.

  5. How do I know which meal plan I should follow? Read answer

    It depends on your personal preferences; Tesco Diets really does have an appropriate option for everyone. The diet plans lists sample diet and helpful information about each weight loss approach. Tesco Diets also recommends the best diet plan for you, basing the recommendation on the information you give us during sign up.

  6. I have followed many diets and can't lose weight, will Tesco Diets help me? Read answer

    Tesco Diets can help you to lose weight, where other diets may not have. Many diets are created for quick, unhealthy and unsustainable weight loss. Tesco Diets uses the medically recognised Schofield equations to calculate energy requirements. These take both your BMI and activity level into consideration to ensures that you get the correct calories each week, to help you safely lose weight.

    Our health assessment is specifically designed to help find the correct diet and correct calorie allowance to ensure you reach your goals.

  7. What weight loss should I expect on the Tesco Diets plan? Read answer

    Our diet plans are designed to help you lose 1 - 2 lbs (0/5 - 1 kg) per week.

  8. I am breastfeeding; can I follow the diet plans? Read answer

    We do not advise following a weight loss plan at any stage of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding your baby will help you to lose some of the weight you have gained and you can also exercise to boost weight loss.

    When you have finished breastfeeding, a low fat, low calorie plan combined with exercise will help you to lose 1 - 2 lbs per week and we recommend that you wait until you are no longer breastfeeding before you register for one of our diet plans.

  9. I want to follow a vegetarian plan, but can I eat fish? Read answer

    Although we offer a Tesco Diets vegetarian plan it will not be suitable for you as it excludes meat, fish and poultry. However, most of the other diet plans allow you the option to include fish while excluding other animal products. Tesco Diets is very flexible and most plans do allow you to tailor the diet plans to your preferences.
